You can almost smell the peaty forest floor in this painting that captures the feel of the forest depths.
The large forest denizens form a solid backdrop against which the sparkling treeferns catch any shafts of light that penetrate through the forest canopy.
And mind where you tread - the bank falls away steeply here...
